House, Cottage & Garage Lifting Services in Sault Ste. Marie

There are many scenarios where lifting a home or building is a smart and cost-effective option. Structural lifting can help prevent flooding, correct foundation settlement or failure, add an additional storey, increase basement headroom, or expand the usable space of a commercial building.

In Northern Ontario and along the North Shore of Lake Superior, lifting a camp or building is often a practical necessity rather than a luxury. Seasonal flooding, fluctuating lake levels, frost heave, and shifting or eroding soil can all place significant stress on older foundations.

Many camps were originally built on cinder blocks or shallow piers, which can slowly move or settle over time. As the ground shifts, these supports can sink or rotate, causing the structure to lean toward the lake and, in severe cases, risk structural failure or tipping.

Lifting the camp allows the foundation to be properly repaired or replaced, drainage to be improved, and the structure to be set level and secure once again.

It also creates the opportunity to increase clearance above water and snow, add usable space or headroom below, and protect a camp that may have been in a family for generations.
